His production work was limited to Off-Broadway pieces associated with Rooftop Productions. Hyams was the head of publicity for the Lincoln Center Repertory Company during the 1960s, and the editor of Theatre: The Annual of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center. The Barry Hyams papers date from 1947 to 1963 and document Hyams' work as a press representative for Broadway.
