Peter Harvey (born 1933) is an American theatrical stage and costume designer. His work has appeared in Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and international theatre productions. The Peter Harvey design files date from 1956 to 1970 and contain drawings, elevations, and renderings of stage and costume designs, as well as clippings, programs, photographs of the sets, and correspondence.

Biographical/historical information

Peter Harvey (born 1933) is an American theatrical stage and costume designer. His work has appeared in Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and international theatre productions. During the late 1950s, Harvey designed sets for several regional theatres, including the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, Florida and the White Barn Theatre in Westport, Connecticut.

Scope and arrangement

The Peter Harvey design files date from 1956 to 1970 and contain drawings, elevations, and renderings of stage and costume designs for the theatre, primarily for productions at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, Florida in the late 1950s and international productions in the late 1960s. Along with designs, each production is documented through clippings, programs, photographs of the sets, and in some instances, correspondence about the production. Materials for shows from 1968 to 1970 also include inventories of the drawings available for the show.
