Scope and arrangement
The majority of the collection consists of Charles Jones scores encompassing more than a sixty-year period of his work from the 1930s to 1997. There are several drafts of many of the compositions in the collection. Among the works are Allegory, Ballade for Violin and Piano, Book of the Hours, Capriccio for Viola and Piano, Case History, Down With Drink, Epiphany, String Quartets, Symphonies and more. The Charles Jones Papers also contain a number of scores by other composers such as Composition in G minor by Cameron Jones, Chant, and Serenade by Sandy Jones, In Memoriam and Sonatine Pastorale by Darius Milhaud and others. There is one box of correspondence, clippings, programs and photographs. The correspondence contains letters from John Adaskin, Vladimir Goldshmann, Alfred Frankestein, Darius Milhaud, Richard Korn, Igor Stravinsky and others
