Barry Hyams (1911-1989) was an American theater producer and press representative who publicized over 40 Broadway productions throughout the course of his career. His production work was limited to Off-Broadway pieces associated with Rooftop Productions. Hyams was the head of publicity for the Lincoln Center Repertory Company during the 1960s, and the editor of Theatre: The Annual of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center. The Barry Hyams papers date from 1947 to 1963 and document Hyams' work as a press representative for Broadway. The collection contains publicity files and scrapbooks for over 30 Broadway productions, many of which were produced by Robert Whitehead and the Producers Theatre. E. B. Marks (1865-1945) was an American music publisher who founded the Edward B. Marks Music Company. The E. B. Marks collection of photographs and ephemera consist of clippings, publications, photographs, programs, promotional material, and other materials. Most of the clippings and publications date from about the 1930s to the 1940s and concern television and radio broadcasting, music, and film. There are programs from the first annual conference of the Television Broadcasters Association in 1944. Clippings concern the early development of television, film advertising, and individual musicians, among other topics. There are also clippings on theater from about the 1910s to the 1920s, and one folder of clippings on the evangelist Billy Sunday, dating to the 1910s. Charlie Uno (born Charles M. Feldheim, 1876-1959) was an entertainment reporter, columnist, and editor in New York City from 1892 until his death. From the mid-1930s to 1959, he worked for Billboard magazine, writing the columns "U-Notes" and "Burlesque Bits," in addition to serving as the magazine's Coney Island correspondent. The Charlie Uno papers date from 1909 to 1959 and contain correspondence, clippings, press releases and kits, story drafts, and photographs, primarily related to Uno's work at Billboard. The bulk of the collection consists of photographs, including headshots of burlesque performers and other entertainers. The papers are arranged alphabetically by subject or document type. less

Emily Ann Wellman was an American stage actress in the early 20th century. In 1921, she toured with the Shubert Vaudeville, starring in a flash drama (or ten-minute play) she also wrote and directed, titled The Actor's Wife. After fleeing to Czechoslovakia and Italy during the rise of the Nazis, he immigrated to the United States in 1941, where he became director of the King-Smith Playhouse in Washington, D.C. and founded The Playhouse Studio, a school of drama, with Norwegian dancer Liljan Espenak. Additions to the Ewald Schindler papers date from 1899 to 1947 and contain letters, photographs, scrapbook pages, and personal ephemera that document Schindler's family and professional life. Scrapbook pages with clippings, photographs, and a program document Schindler's direction of The Green Cockatoo at the King-Smith Playhouse, dated 1942 to 1943. Correspondence is with Kurt Schindler, Liljan Espenak, and Mary Wigman, discussing family and professional issues. Photographs include individual portraits of the Schindler family as well as a cabinet card depicting Czech opera singer Emmy Destinn. (1955); a Philadelphia production of That's the Ticket (1948); and the 1953 touring production of Pal Joey. Pal Joey materials include box office statements for the week of November 23rd. There are also photographs from Pins and Needles (1937), One Touch of Venus (1943), The Phil Silvers Show, and some movies that Clark appeared in. Most of the materials are held in brittle scrapbooks, some of which have been disassembled. Other materials in the collection include contracts, royalty statements, personal notes from colleagues such as Harold Rome, and personal photographs of Clark. The Joan Chandler papers (1923-1959) consist of photographs, clippings, programs, scrapbooks, contracts, correspondence, and other papers documenting her career, her secondary and post-secondary schooling, and her family. Chandler's upbringing and schooling in Butler, Pennsylvania are represented by yearbooks, photographs, class notes, programs, sheet music, clippings, and memorabilia, mostly from the late 1930s and 1940. Materials from the Bennington School of the Arts date from 1939 to 1941 and include class notes on the Graham technique, orientation materials, performance programs, sheet music ("Modern Dance Technique Accompaniments" by Zoe Williams), and a script (The King and the Duke by Francis Fergusson).
