The guides—for shows such as Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde, Jane Eyre, Sunset Boulevard, and The Diary of Anne Frank— are the result of the work of Pesner and the League to promote Broadway plays and musicals, and make them accessible to a wide range of audiences. Many guides were written or edited by Pesner, whereas press kits, promotional photographs, and slides were submitted to the League by press agents.
