Ben Pesner is a writer and digital content producer for the Broadway League, a national trade association for the Broadway industry. Until 2007, the Broadway League was known as the League of American Theatres. The Ben Pesner collection on the League of American Theatres dates from 1988 to 2006 and contains teaching and study guides; souvenir brochures and programs; press kits; and promotional photographs and slides relating to plays and musicals appearing on Broadway. The guides—for shows such as Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde, Jane Eyre, Sunset Boulevard, and The Diary of Anne Frank— are the result of the work of Pesner and the League to promote Broadway plays and musicals, and make them accessible to a wide range of audiences. Many guides were written or edited by Pesner, whereas press kits, promotional photographs, and slides were submitted to the League by press agents. The collection is arranged by format: guides and programs; photographs and slides; and press kits.
