Scope and arrangement
The collection consists of letters, telegrams, and postcards and scripts documenting Goldstone's efforts to turn his "play prognosticating" into a viable way to make a living. Some family letters, contracts, and play analyses are included. Presumably the scripts are by writers whose plays he believed would meet with success.
The Jean Stock Goldstone papers are arranged in two series:
-
1937-19491 box
Correspondents include Stuart Mims, Otto Preminger, Frieda Fishbein, George Freedley, and Betty Lord of the Dramatic Workshop of the New School. A thank you note from Flora Robson is also part of the collection
-
ca. 1938-19612 boxes
This series consists mainly of clean scripts, however some have notes and revisions.
