Scope and arrangement
The Chester Biscardi Papers consist of 1.5 linear feet of material documenting the creation and premier of Biscardi’s opera Tight-Rope (1985), the first opera ever commissioned by an American university (the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in celebration its School of Music’s 90th anniversary). The Papers consist of scores, biographical material, clippings and performance programs.
The Chester Biscardi papers are arranged in two series:

This series consists of the original orchestral score and the revised vocal score for the opera Tight-Rope (1985).

1985 - 19875 folders
This series consists of Biscardi’s biography and resume; clippings documenting the creation of the opera Tight-Rope (1985) from its commission to its premier and first reviews; programs from the first performances; and the libretto and notes for the revised score.
