The Campaign for World Government, founded by Rosika Schwimmer and Lola Maverick Lloyd in December 1937, was among the first organizations to advocate a democratic federal world government. The Campaign was divided between two offices in separate cities, with the international campaign headquartered in New York City and the national campaign in Chicago. This collection consists of the records of the New York office, but documents both the Campaign's international and national efforts. Records of the Chicago office are described separately. less

The Peace Now Movement was founded in 1943 by a group of pacifists to find means of ending World War II. They opposed the policy of unconditional surrender and called for a world peace conference. Collection consists of correspondence, accounts, reports, and related records. Correspondents include George W. Hartmann, Dorothy Hutchinson, Frederick J. Libby, and A.J. Muste.
