Gary Batson is a playwright. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University, and two Masters of Arts degrees from Teachers College of Columbia University in education and communications. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Administration from the University of Maryland. In the 1980s, Batson was a member of the Frank Silvera Writers Workshop and involved with the Negro Ensemble Company. His plays have been produced at a variety of theaters in New York City, Westchester County, and Rockland County; a few were directed by Arnold Beauchamp. In 2008, he co-founded the Mount Vernon Theater Company in New York, now known as Phoenix Arts, for which he is the Executive Producer. Additionally, Batson has published fiction and poetry, and he was a news reporter and editor. He currently teaches writing at Touro College, and he is a public relations consultant with Batson Communications. The Gary Batson collection consists principally of eight playscripts of his produced plays, written between 2004 and 2011. All except "A Fact of Matta" were produced. Announcements and news clippings discuss the plays productions. Also included are "Flawless: A Collection of Love Poems" (2007) and Batson's curriculum vitae. less

Collection consists of lecture notes compiled by Magnin from a course of study at the Sorbonne, 1834-1835, which constitute the source materials he used to write Les Origines du Théâtre Moderne, 1838. Also included are transcripts by Magnin of reviews of his book. less

The Maude Adams collection reflects many of the actress' varied interests: acting, directing, lighting, writing, sketching and teaching. The collection spans the years 1879-1956 and includes correspondence, writings by Maude Adams and others; papers relating to her teaching and directing at Stephens College; and programs, autographed material, portraits, clippings, and mementos from friends and colleagues. less

The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) was an Off-Broadway theatre company. Founded by a group of stage veterans, TACT focused on the production of lesser-known and underperformed plays of literary merit. The collection consists of production and dramaturgy files, financial records, photographs and office files. Materials are related to the operation of TACT, including business and financial documents, and its various productions and events.  less

The Jane Goldberg Changing Times Tap Dance Company collection, dating from 1943 through 2018, traces the professional history of founder Jane Goldberg and the initiatives undertaken by the Changing Times Tap Dance Company to promote and preserve tap dance history. The collection holds the Company's administrative files, promotional and publicity materials, photographs, correspondence, writings about tap by Goldberg, and extensive audio and moving image recordings of rehearsals, performances, and interviews. less
