Henderson M. (Henderson Malcolm) Wolfe (1873-1951) was a banker who held executive positions in several New York City banks; he also served as Chief Auditor of Accounts in New York City’s Finance Department in 1911. He was born in Muhlenburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from New York University Law School in 1904. The Henderson M. Wolfe scrapbook, dated 1908-1917, contains pasted business correspondence, news clippings, receipts, event programs and other printed ephemera reflecting his career as an executive banker and civil servant in New York City. Materials document Wolfe's association with the Corn Exchange Bank and other institutions, his service in the City’s Finance Department, and his return to the banking industry. Affiliations with charitable, social, and professional organizations are also represented. Letters are chiefly congratulatory messages on his appointments; a few carbon copies of outgoing letters are also present. The scrapbook (1 volume in 1 box) also includes some biographical data and two photographic portraits of his son Henderson W. Wolfe Jr. as a child. The Stage Women's War Relief was founded in 1917 on the eve of the United States' entry into World War One. Rachel Crothers (1878-1958), a playwright and producer, founded the organization along with six other women active in the theatre. Crothers was the national chairman of the organization. The Stage Women's War Relief fund scrapbooks, dated 1917 to 1921, were created by this charitable organization to have a record of their relief work to aid the American military during the war. The scrapbooks hold newspaper clippings, playbills and other printed matter. less

Scripts, production records, published articles, correspondence, programs, ephemera, photographs and artwork document actor and director Erica Brown Freeman's association with the avant-garde and experimental Ridiculous Theatrical Company in New York City and its leaders Charles Ludlam and Everett Quinton over more than ten years. In addition to many annotated scripts and production documentation, of particular note are the complete production notes for Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep, production documentation for Ludlam's Camille in both New York and London, various drafts of Quinton's script for Hunchback of Notre Dame, and an annotated typescript (1964) for When Clowns Play Hamlet by H. M. Koutoukas. Also included are two life masks of Charles Ludlam and Everett Quinton and two paintings by Charles Ludlam, gifts to Freeman from Ludlam. less
