Scope and arrangement
This is a synthetic collection consisting of correspondence, a portrait of Linley Sanbourne, and other pictorial works. The correspondence consists of letters from the artist, dating from 1861 to 1871, to George Bentley, George Hodder, and others. The pictorial works consist of original drawings and tracings for various poems and stories published in "Once a Week," from 1859 to 1864, and for Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." Also, there is an undated letter to Tenniel from William Makepeace Thackeray.
