John Glines (b. 1933) is an American producer and playwright. In 1976, he established The Glines, an Off Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to producing plays about the gay experience. The John Glines papers (1971-1998) consist of scripts, most of which were produced by The Glines, and a small amount of related material such as fliers, press releases, contact sheets, and lead sheets for songs. Some of the scripts have annotations. The collection contains a number of scripts by Joe Pintauro, including copies of Snow Orchid and Wild Blue with handwritten changes. There are scripts by Jane Chambers, as well as a script and reference material for In Her Own Words (A Portrait of Jane), a show compiled by John Glines, primarily from Chambers' own writings. A file for Chambers' play Last Summer at Bluefish Cove contains programs, financial information, and legal agreements for the show, but does not include a script. Other playwrights represented in the collection include Victor Bumbalo, Doric Wilson, and Robert Patrick.
