Scope and arrangement
The Anna Held Museum Papers document the portion of Anna Held's career in which she knew and worked with Florenz Ziegfeld. Her personal life is reflected in her letters to her daughter, Liane and correspondence to her from Ziegfeld. The rest of the collections illustrates Liane Carrera's creation of the museum and her documentation of her mother's life through her writings. Some ephemeral materials include photographs of Anna Held, Liane Carrera and items on display at the museum.
The Anna Held Museum papers are arranged in four series:

1920-1924.21 linear feet
The series consist of letters written to Flo Ziegfeld from family and professional associates. Included are letters from Billie Burke, Victor Herbert, Will Rogers, Florenz Ziegfeld, Sr. and his daughter, Patricia Ziegfeld.

1907-1922.21 linear feet
The series consist of a variety of personal papers belonging to Anna Held. Included are date and address books, correspondence and sheet music. Of special note is Anna Held's will and the settlement from her estate.

1908-1987.21 linear feet
The series consists of personal correspondence as well as correspondence and papers related to the Anna Held Museum which Liane Carrera founded in 1976. Also included are typescripts of Anna Held's biography written by Liane Carrera. The biography typescript are in two versions, one in English and one in French.

The series consists of photographs, picture postcards and some clippings. Photographs are of Anna Held, Liane Carrera and items from the Anna Held Museum in San Jacinto, California.
