Biographical/historical information

Robert H. Reid (1918-2000) worked as an editor of the Gramophone Shop Encyclopedia and Record Supplement, co-editor of The Long Player, Import Sales Manager for Capitol Records International Corp., and a record reviewer for publications such as the American Record Guide and Notes. He also worked as a representative of for Peters International, Inc., and as a record appraiser.

Scope and arrangement

The collection consists of record company catalogs, supplements, press releases, promotional material, and other ephemera from E.M.I. and affiliate companies across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. The collection contains particularly substantial documentation of record releases in South America, India, South Africa, and New Zealand between the 1960s and 1970s.
