Scope and arrangement
The Bryant Park Concerts of Recorded Music were free public programs featuring orchestral, vocal, and instrumental selections from the record library held by the New York Public Library's Music Division which became the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound. Concerts were held on weekdays from 12-2 pm and 8:15 pm every third Wednesday in room 213 at the Library's flagship location on 42nd street and 5th avenue and outdoors at Bryant Park, located directly behind the building during the summer months. The collection consists of concert programs, announcements, articles, correspondences, and photographs.
