Robert Evett (1922-1975) was an American composer and writer on music. The Robert Evett scores, dating from 1946 to 1960, hold three of his compositions.
Robert Evett (1922-1975) was an American composer and writer on music. From 1941 to 1947, he studied with Roy Harris in Colorado Springs; he then served as chairman of the music department of the Washington, D.C. Institute of Contemporary Arts, a position he held until 1950. He attended the Juilliard School from 1951 to 1952, where he studied composition with Vincent Persichetti and choral conducting with Margaret Hillis. He then returned to Washington, where he remained until his death. Evett’s involvement with musical life there led to commissions from the Pan-American Union, the National Symphony Orchestra, Georgetown University, and the Composer’s Forum for Catholic Worship.

The Robert Evett scores, dating from 1946 to 1960, hold three compositions: Capriccio 4 for piano (1946); Symphony I (1960), and an unidentified choral piece. The choral piece is a manuscript with a complete score and parts, while the other two scores are copies of complete manuscripts; Cappricio 4 has written annotations.
