Arthur Koty was a composer of orchestral music. The collection contains some of his work.
Arthur “Archie” Koty was born ca. 1912. He was a mid-twentieth century composer of orchestral music. He had one sister, Florence Newmark, who was an elementary school music teacher. He had one son, Ross.
Some of his scores include: Clarinet Polka, The Parrot, and Le Secret. Koty died May 11, 1984.
The collection contains printed musical scores. The music consists of orchestral parts of scores. In addition there is one notebook of piano music. Also included is a music book for elementary school music programs, written by Koty’s sister, Florence Newmark.
The collection is lacking any personal material about Koty.
