Max Rabinoff (1879-1966) was an opera and concert music impresario. The Max Rabinoff Papers focus primarily on his participation in the establishment of The American Institute of Operatic and Allied Arts in Stony Point, New York.
Max Rabinoff (1879-1966) was an impresario who established numerous opera companies and successfully managed several others. Later, he sponsored American tours of international musical companies. Rabinoff focused on adding realism to operatic performances and providing those performances to the public at a reasonable price. One of his proudest professional achievements was his participation in the establishment of The American Institute of Operatic and Allied Arts in Stony Point, New York.
The Max Rabinoff Papers are primarily concerned with the establishment of The American Institute of Operatic and Allied Arts. Most of the correspondence, clippings and photographs included relate to that institution. There is a small amount of material relating to other aspects of Rabinoff’s career as an impresario.
