Collection consists of manuscript of Dobuzhinskiĭ's memoirs, in Russian, ca. 1914-1952; and letters, writings, drawings and diagrams, lists, synopses of scenes, costume sketches, and miscellaneous documents, ca. 1930s-1950s, largely in Russian with some in English, relating to Dobuzhinskiĭ's career in the theater. Also, manuscript chronology of Mir Iskusstva, the Russian art movement, and other manuscript writings, in Russian with some in English, relating to Russian stage artists and designers in Russia and abroad.

Mstislav Valerianovich Dobuzhinskiĭ (1875-1957) was a Russian-born stage designer and painter who lived in New York City.
