Scope and arrangement
The collection, 1762-1882, contain incoming letters to Rockwell, writings and printed matter by other shorthand writers.
The letters, 1884-1924, written in longhand are from shorthand writers and teachers on the subject of shorthand. The writings are: Stenography or Shorthand. Writing Made Easy by Charles Dundas (1817); Criticisms on the New Testament by J. D. Scotland (?), and, System of Shorthand (1775). Printed Matter: Howells' Acme System of Phonography (1921); The Reporters Manual and Vocabulary by Benn Pitman and R. P. Prosser (1884); Manual of Phonography (1860); The Reporters Companion (1877) by Benn Pitman.
