Scope and arrangement
The collection consists of postcards, mostly advertising travel destinations, and covers every U.S. state and territory. The collection is particularly strong in New York City locations, including monuments, significant buildings, hotels, parks, restaurants. Well-known subjects represented in the collection include the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Empire State Building.
Dating primarily from the early 20th century, the bulk of the collection is dated between 1905 and 1915, considered the Golden Age of Postcards.
