Scope and arrangement
The collection contains materials related to Dorris and Anderson's time as editors-in-chief of Dance Chronicle; a small amount of unrelated personal materials are also included. The Dance Chronicle files Series consists of three groupings: correspondence between contributors and editors often in relation to articles, manuscripts (with or without corrections) of articles that have been submitted for publication, and general office files related to the publication. This final grouping also contains some of Dorris's own, related, work. The Programs Series consists of programs for dance performances, mostly from New York City, all of which contain notes about the productions. The Conferences and Organizations Series consists of materials relating to relevant professional organizations. The Personal Materials Series consists of all materials not related to Dance Chronicle, including personal correspondence, dance photographs that could not be linked to Dance Chronicle, personal files, and some material from Dorris' time as a professor.

Consists of three groupings. The first contains correspondence between contributors and editors, often in relation to articles that were either selected or considered for publication. The second consists of manuscripts (with or without corrections) of articles that have been submitted for publication. The third contains general office files related to the publication.
