Scope and arrangement
The Marian Horosko writings and research files hold correspondence, research notes, drafts, and photographs used to write Alicia Alonso: The Flower of Cuba (1970) and Teachers in the Russian Tradition (1979). The Alicia Alonso files hold typed galley drafts of the article, correspondence with colleagues and publishers, the notebook kept by Horosko on her visit to Cuba, and photographs of Alonso and members of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba.
The Teachers in Russian Tradition files hold correspondence with colleagues and individuals who knew the artists, notes, and annotated articles. The bulk of the materials are photographs of Russian dancers who became teachers such as Hilda Butsova, Pierre Vladimiroff, and Alexandra Danilova.
