Bat Ye'or is the pen name of Gisèle Littman (born 1933), a British-Swiss author who has written about the historical conditions of Jewish people living in Islamic countries, as well as the perceived influence of Islam on contemporary European politics and culture. Her husband David Littman (1933-2012) also wrote about Jewish people living under Islamic rule, and advocated for human rights causes at the United Nations as a representative of non-governmental organizations.
