Richard Milhous Nixon (1913-1994) was the 37th President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974, when he became the only president to resign the office. Nixon had previously served as a Republican U.S. Representative, Senator from California, and as the Vice President of the United States under Dwight D. Eisenhower. The letters and documents in the collection date from 1958-1970, and consist of a small quantity of acknowledgment letters from Nixon to members of the public during his term as Vice President.
