Scope and arrangement
This is a synthetic collection consisting of manuscripts, correspondence by the author, and portraits of the author. The manuscripts consist of her poems, as well as envelopes addressed in her hand. The correspondence consists of letters by the author, dating from [1829] to 1854, to Richard Bentley, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Richard Henry Horne, John Lucas, and others. There are letters to Mitford from Alexander Dyce and H. H. Milman dating from 1834 to 1854 or 1855.
