Vincent Sheean was an American journalist, novelist, short-story writer, and essayist.

Scope and arrangement

This is a synthetic collection consisting of typescripts and manuscripts, correspondence, and legal documents. The typescripts and manuscripts include drafts of novels, articles, reviews, and radio addresses. The correspondence, dating from [1929] through 1973, includes letters from the author to Warren Randolph Burgess, Sir Winston Churchill, Norma Millay, Edward Sackville-West, Agatha Brooks Young, and Harper & Bros. publishers. There are also letters relating to the author, dating from 1940 to 1959, between various correspondents including Allan Ross Macdougall, Norma Millay, Harper & Bros., and others. There are letters to Sheean from Sir Winston Churchill, Barnard D. N. Grebanier, Walter S. Minot, and others, dating from 1938 to 1973.
