Many have notations of Warriner’s assistant, C.W. Christy. There are also some \"'D' documents\" located in the Army of the Potomac's numbered documents.</p> <p>Letters are mostly to Dr. John H. Douglas (Associate Secretary), with a few to Anderson and others, and from Alexander McDonald, Frederick Knapp, Lewis Steiner, and agents and inspectors in the field, mostly in the USSC's Army of the Potomac and Western Department. Letters concern supplies (especially vegetables for the treatment of scurvy and medicine), medical issues, and activities in the field.</p> <p>Reports are by USSC inspectors and are mostly field reports from the Western Department (Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, West Virginia) and Army of the Potomac regarding hospitals, supplies, medical issues and the health of soldiers, transportation of sick and wounded, and Confederate prisoners at Point Lookout, Maryland.</p> <p>Supply invoices are mostly for items shipped on various steamers.</p> <p>Some items are copies.</p>"}
