{"value"=>"
Warriner borrowed numerous items from various record groups already organized by the USSC’s Archive Department (Central Office Washington and New York Office especially) for his research, many of which were numbered documents. These items were returned to the Commission in 1870 and were listed individually in catalog 1099, under the heading “selections from the archives.” The numbered documents have now been returned to and reincorporated into their original record groups’ numbered sequences. Items borrowed by Warriner from Henry W. Bellows’ papers have also been returned.

Arrangement of Warriner and Christy material generally follows the order of catalog 1099, where items were organized into three distinct groups: drafts, notes and extracts, and selections from the archives. Material within these groups has usually been arranged by USSC geographic operations. A separate group of borrowed material, known as “Dr. Douglas’ papers” or “‘D’ documents,” is also present.

Material created by Knapp and his assistant Anderson is arranged separately at the end of the Special Relief Archives.
"}
