{"value"=>"
The Special Relief Archives are organized by two writing projects, undertaken but not completed: Henry A. Warriner’s volume (with C. W. Christy’s assistance) and Frederick N. Knapp’s volume (with John A. Anderson’s assistance).

C.M. Smith created two separate inventories of the material received by the USSC from Warriner in 1870, which were later bound together and labeled catalog 1099, most likely during the 1878 reorganization of USSC records. The catalog is incomplete; many items do not appear in it, and none of the Knapp and Anderson material is listed.

Warriner and Knapp’s original intentions for their respective volumes are outlined in prospectuses located in the Historical Bureau's office records.
"}
