The Ark Ensemble, a New York-based theater company, was founded by Erin B. Mee in 1991. Artistic director Mee, who also teaches Indian drama at New York University, founded the company to produce Indian plays as well as Western plays presented with Eastern techniques. The troupe's productions include Girish Karnad's adaptation of the legend HAYAVADANA entitled DIVIDED TOGETHER, Kavalam Narayana Panikkar's OTTAYAN THE LONE ELEPHANT, an adaptation of Goethe's FAUST in the Malayalam language, and Shakespeare's TIMON OF ATHENS. The Ark Ensemble ephemera consists of clippings, fliers, magazine articles, postcards, and other documents related to the activities of the group, including a few photographs from various productions.
