Jacob (Jack) Charash (ca. 1880-1949) was a press agent, theatrical manager, dramatist, and translator of plays from Yiddish and German. He was co-founder and co-director of the Anglo-Jewish Theatre, a unit of the WPA Federal Theatre Project. Collection contains correspondence, contracts and agreements, and theatrical papers of Charash. Bulk of the correspondence, 1921-1949, consists of letters from various producers, actors and playwrights. Contracts and agreements are related to Charash's work as a press agent and literary collaborator. Theatrical papers include memoranda and clippings.
