Scope and arrangement
The records of the Lavanburg Foundation contain meeting minutes and administrative files documenting the activities of the foundation, records of construction of the Lavanburg Villages, and files on grants awarded. Materials are organized in three series (Administrative Files, Lavanburg Villages Project, and Grants), and range in date from 1927 to 2011.
The Lavanburg Foundation records are arranged in three series:
- 1927-20107 boxes
The Administrative Files series contains correspondence with trustees of the Lavanburg Foundation and with housing regulation agencies, meeting minutes,scrapbooks, reports on the foundation's activities, and other records related to the administrative oversight of the foundation.
- 1961-19726 boxes
The Lavanburg Villages Project series is comprised of records corresponding to construction of the Lavanburg Villages, including correspondence with contractors, budgeting and other planning files, minutes from meetings concerning the project, artist renderings of buildings, scrapbooks, and other files related to the work.
- 1966-20114 boxes
Series III contains lists of recipients the Lavanburg Foundation awarded grants to, as well as files on individual grant recipients including correspondence, reports, and other documentation of work done as a product of grant money received.
