Scope and arrangement
The David Shaw television and radio scripts, dating from 1941 to 1977 (bulk dates 1950s), are mostly scripts that Shaw wrote for anthologies during the Golden Age of Television. Anthologies represented include Goodyear Television Playhouse, The Philco Television Playhouse, and Schlitz Playhouse of Stars.
The files also hold scripts that he adapted from other writers' works for television; scripts co-written with other writers, including his brother Irwin Shaw; pilots; revised and edited scripts; several radio and theatrical scripts; and draft outlines.

The collection was arranged in five groups: Television Anthologies; Television Scripts; Radio Scripts, Theatrical Scripts, and Draft Outlines.
