Marc B. Weiss was a theater lighting designer. The Marc B. Weiss design files date from 1968 to 1994 and contain lighting plots, hanging plans, cue sheets, focus charts, and scripts.

Biographical/historical information

Marc B. Weiss was a theater lighting designer. Weiss designed numerous theatrical productions such as Deathtrap (1978), Othello (1982), Zorba (1968, 1983), Raggedy Ann (1986), and Cabaret (1987). He was a member of the United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.

Scope and arrangement

The Marc B. Weiss design files consist primarily of lighting plots, focus charts, and scripts with accompanying cues for shows produced between 1968 and 1994. Files may also contain hanging plans, cue sheets, board set-ups, magic sheets, instrument schedules, notes, and shop orders.

The collection documents Weiss's entire career, but the bulk of the materials are related theatrical productions from the 1980s such as Othello (1982), Zorba (1968, 1983), My One and Only (1983), The Rink (1984), and Cabaret (1987). Most of Weiss's work includes a United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829 stamp.
