Karen Sunde (born 1942) is an American playwright and actress. Sunde began writing for the stage in the late 1970s, and her plays have been produced Off-Broadway, in regional theaters, and internationally. In addition to plays, screenplays, and radio drama, Sunde is the author of five Kabuki adaptations of classic Shakespeare and Greek drama. The Karen Sunde papers date from 1963 to 2008 and contain biographical information and production files with scripts, programs, clippings, fliers, and photographs documenting the production of Sunde's plays, including Kabuki plays and radio plays. Materials are in English, Japanese, and German.
