Don Stowell (1940-1995) was a theatre educator, fashion historian, and costume designer. He taught at the Florida State University School of Theatre from 1970 to 1983, and became director of the Division of Fine Arts at North Dakota State University in 1990. The Don Stowell designs and photographs date from the 1970 to 1990 and contain original costume drawings by Stowell and Ben Gutierrez-Soto; photographs of a Florida State production of Oedipus, designed by Howard Bay; and photographs of exhibits and the exhibition proposal for the 1988 symposium on Konstantin Stanislavsky, held at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
