Biographical/historical information

Actress Queenie Smith danced with the Metropolitan Opera Company and performed in theater, film and television. Smith also worked for the Theatre Guild.

Scope and arrangement

The collection includes correspondence, photographs, programs, scripts, and a few clippings documenting the career of actress Queenie Smith, from 1916 to 1958. Much of the correspondence relates to her managerial work for the Theatre Guild. Correspondents include critic Robert Garland and director Vincent Donehue. Photographs are mostly portraits and publicity shots, as well as some production photographs. Also included are scripts for The Boy Friend and Allegro.
