Benjamin Poff Draper (1907-1980) was a television producer and writer. Unpublished dissertation, completed in August 1969, devoted to an analytical historical inventory of theaters in the state of Colorado, from 1859 to the present. The author's analysis includes all Colorado theater buildings, whether used for legitimate stage presentations, opera, vaudeville, motion pictures, or some combination thereof. Outdoor venues such as amphitheatres and drive-in theaters are included in the survey. Includes statistical tables, an extensive bibliography, appendices of raw data, photostats of material from various sources, and photographs taken by the author. The dissertation totals 2,120 pages of text.
