Yip Harburg (1896-1981, née Isidore Hochberg) was an American lyricist best known for the Oscar winning song Over the Rainbow. The Ellyn Polshek collection of materials about Yip Harburg, dated 1977 to 2005, holds a manuscript copy and research files for the book entitled The Business Of Rainbows: The Life and Lyrics of E.Y. Harburg by John Lahr; a commemorative stamp, an exhibit brochure, and several letters including one from Harburg and posters. less

The Jack and Madeline Gilford papers contain materials from 1938 though 2005 that document the Gilfords' professional lives as actors and producers. Jack Gilford was a veteran vaudeville and revue comedian who played comic character roles in many stage and TV productions as well as in a number of films. Madeline Gilford was a film and stage actress and social activist, who later started a career as a producer, working with her husband Jack on many projects. Their production files, which make up the bulk of the collection, contain scripts, notes, photographs, and in the case of producing files, financial and backers materials. Other material includes scrapbooks, headshots, correspondence, Madeline Gilford's committee files, and sheet music and other material that Jack used in his vaudeville and solo acts. less

Teo Macero is a composer and music producer known primarily for his record production work for Columbia and CBS (now Sony) records from 1959 to 1975, and subsequently for his own company, M. Productions. The heart of the collection is Columbia Records office correspondence and recording studio paperwork documenting the careers and recording projects of the musicians recorded by Macero. Oral history materials in Series I and some correspondence in Series V are restricted until the year 2043 in order to protect the privacy of individual persons.
