The Foire Coloniale de Bruxelles was an annual literary fair held in Brussels, Belgium, for the Belgian colonies. This collection consists of literary works, mostly folk tales, written by Congolese civil servants for the Foire Coloniale de Bruxelles. There also is also an autobiographical article by Raphael Mutombo, and a scrapbook of mounted clippings from the newspaper L'Etoile consisting of the story of Chief Samba-a-Kya-Buta, the founder of the Kinda kingdom, written by Bonaventure Makonga. Also included is a notebook of folktales of the Baluba people, with transcriptions of Baluba sayings that relate childhood retentions of elders' tales, written by Benoit Nyengele.
