Scope and arrangement
The Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Metropolitan Chapter records include correspondence and printed matter. The correspondence (1959-1989) is from presidents Barbara Jackson and Juanita Peterson to members. There also is correspondence and other material from other chapters and the Eastern Region. In addition, the collection includes Executive Committee minutes, membership lists, presidents' and financial reports, bank records, and files for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. The collection principally contains printed material and information about events occurring in the various regions across the country and about individual members; these materials include several national directories, miscellaneous programs, newsclippings, a handbook (1948), a manual (1952), newsletters, conference reports and photographs.
