The collection consists of five audio recordings, four of which are commercially released records, of songs performed by Eddie Barnes as soloist, the Cues, Eddie Barnes and His Hi-Fidels, and an album by Harry Belafonte.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on March 22, 1924, Eddie Barnes sang bass and played double bass for the vocal quintet the Cues during the 1950s. Formed in 1954, the Cues were an in-house backup group for Atlantic Records. Using different aliases, the group supported a number of the label's acts. Barnes was also the bassist and vocalist with The Hi-Fidels.
The collection consists of five audio recordings, four of which are commercially released records, of songs performed by Eddie Barnes as soloist, the Cues, Eddie Barnes and His Hi-Fidels, and an album by Harry Belafonte. They are arranged alphabetically by title. Song titles reflect the song on each side of the record. The original format of one audio recording is audio cassette, and the item contains two parts described separately, representing each side of the cassette.
