The New York Black Nurses Association (NYBNA) and its parent organization, the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), were founded in 1971 to combat inequities in healthcare for Black Americans. Their mission includes education and employment opportunities for Black nursing students and health professionals, and the improvement of healthcare for Black communities.
