Robert Span Browne (1924-2004) was an economist who worked to promote Black economic development. The collection consists of four audio recordings of a 1968 conference organized in part by the National Association of Television and Radio Announcers, an organization of Black broadcasters.

Browne was the founder of the Black Economic Research Center (BERC) (1969-1980), and the Twenty-First Century Foundation (1971-1984).
The collection consists of four audio recordings of a 1968 conference organized in part by the National Association of Television and Radio Announcers, an organization of Black broadcasters. They are organized chronologically. The original format of the audio recordings was open reel, with many items containing two or more parts.
