Scope and arrangement
The collection primarily documents the activities of the Juilliard String Quartet during the years 1961-1962 and 1966-1967, with the bulk of materials covering 1966-1967 when Seymour Krawitz served as publicist. The collection includes letters, concert invitations and other items of correspondence to and from Mr. Krawitz. The collection documents the quartet's touring as part of the American National Theatre and Academy program in locations such as Taiwan, the Philippines, Singapore, Laos, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Also included are several pages of notes from an earlier period in the mid-1950s when the ensemble was managed by Miriam E. de Kika.
