Lieutenant-General George Fitzroy, 1st Duke of Northumberland, was the third son of King Charles II and his mother Barbara Villiers, Countess of Castlemaine. On 1 October 1674, he was created Earl of Northumberland, Baron of Pontefract (Yorkshire) and Viscount Falmouth (Cornwall). On 6 April 1683, he was created Duke of Northumberland. Account books of the household expenses of George Fitzroy, Duke of Northumberland, from 1687 to 1696. Also included are accounts for the stable from 1687 to 1692
