Scope and arrangement
Fair copies of 46 letters by Digby in a contemporary scribe's hand. There are holograph corrections by Digby. The letters are to his sons (Kenelm, John and George) and other relatives and friends after the death of his wife, Lady Venetia, in 1633. The manuscript also contains a personal prayer and three discourses on the soul, all written at Gresham College, where Digby retired for 3 years to mourn his wife's death. Negative photostats.
