John Clark, a shoemaker of Newton, Massachusetts, kept this account book from 1684 through 1693. The majority of the entries pertain to shoes made or repaired, though some pertain to other items, including hides, bark, leather, Indian corn, and rye. Clark also kept his account with servants in this volume The account book also contains a few entries dated 1802-1803 at Princeton, New Jersey. The author of these entries is unknown
